Overview
ZestyShot turns table tennis footage into short highlight reels. ZestyShot is operated by ZestyShot LLC(“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect what we need to run the service and nothing more — we do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.
This policy covers the ZestyShot iOS app, our websites at zestyshot.com and m.zestyshot.com, and the backend services that process your videos.
What we collect
- Videos you upload.The source footage you record and the highlight reels we render from it, along with technical metadata about those files — resolution, duration, frame rate, codec, file size, and whether the footage is HDR.
- Account information. Every ZestyShot install gets an anonymous account identified by a device-scoped ID, so you can use the app without giving us any personal information. If you choose to sign in with Apple or Google, we also receive the email address, display name, and profile photo that provider shares with us, plus a stable provider user ID. If you sign in with Apple, we store an Apple authorization token so we can revoke that connection if you later delete your account.
- Device and app information. Your device model, operating system version, and the ZestyShot app version, so we can debug issues and know which environments to support.
- Push notification token. If you allow notifications, we store an Apple Push Notification token so we can tell you when your reel is ready.
- Usage and analytics data.Events describing how you move through the app — for example, a video selected, an upload started, a render completed, a reel saved, or a reel shared — together with basic session and device context. See “Analytics” below.
- Sharing information. If you publish a reel, we store the share link, any title or caption you add to it, and counts of how it has been viewed.
- Diagnostic data. Crash reports and error logs, including errors your device reports back to us, so we can fix problems.
We do not intentionally collect special categories of data, and we ask that you not upload footage whose purpose is to capture it.
How we use your data
Only to operate and improve ZestyShot:
- process your footage and deliver finished highlight reels back to you;
- keep your reels available across app reinstalls, and on the web when you sign in;
- send you a notification when a reel is ready or a job fails;
- understand how the product is used so we can improve it (analytics);
- diagnose crashes and fix bugs;
- protect the service from abuse and enforce our Terms;
- meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not use your videos to train AI models, and we do not use your data for advertising.
Analytics
We use a third-party product-analytics service to understand how people use ZestyShot — which steps people complete, where they get stuck, and which features matter. Our analytics provider receives event data (such as the actions listed under “Usage and analytics data”), an account identifier, and basic device and session information. It does not receive your videos, your highlight reels, or their contents.
Our analytics provider acts as our data processor and handles this data on our behalf under its own security and privacy commitments. Where available we use regional data hosting and limit retention to what we need.
When your reels become public
ZestyShot reels are private to your account by default. When you choose to publish a reel, we create a public watch page at m.zestyshot.com with an unguessable link. Anyone who has that link can view the reel and any title you gave it — no sign-in required — so only share it with people you trust to have it.
The watch page does not display your name, email, or account identity. You can revoke a share link at any time from the app; once revoked, the watch page stops working. Anyone who viewed or saved the reel while it was public may still have a copy.
Who we share data with
We use a small set of service providers (“sub-processors”) to run ZestyShot. They may process your data only to provide their service to us:
- A cloud infrastructure provider— authentication, data and file storage, background processing, and logging. Your videos and account data are stored in this provider's cloud.
- Apple— the Apple Push Notification service (delivering notifications) and Sign in with Apple, if you use it.
- Google— Sign in with Google, if you choose to use it.
- A product-analytics provider— as described under “Analytics” above.
We can provide the current list of named providers on request — email support@zestyshot.com.
We may also disclose data if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public. If ZestyShot is involved in a merger or acquisition, data may transfer as part of that transaction; we will notify you if that happens.
Data retention
- We keep your source videos and rendered reels so you can access and re-edit them in the app. While ZestyShot is in pre-launch, video files are also removed from our storage automatically after a set time, even if you have not deleted the reel: the original footage you upload is removed about 7 days after upload, and the processed video and finished reel about 180 days after they are created.
- You can delete a reel or your account at any time, which removes its video files from our storage right away — you do not have to wait for the automatic window. Canceling a job in progress also deletes its files.
- Account information is kept while your account exists.
- Analytics and diagnostic data is kept for a limited period and then deleted or aggregated.
- After you delete your account, some records may remain in encrypted backups or logs for up to 30 days before being purged, and we may retain limited information longer where the law requires it.
Deleting your data
You can delete any individual reel from the app, which removes its source video and rendered files. You can delete your entire account from the app: tap your avatar → Delete account.
Deleting your account permanently removes your reels, source videos, account record, and push token, and — if you signed in with Apple — revokes that connection. Deletion runs in the background and is normally complete within a short time.
Children's privacy
ZestyShot is not directed to children under 13, and you must be at least 13 to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
ZestyShot is often used by parents to film their own children. If you upload footage of a minor, you are responsible for having the right to record and share that footage — see our Terms. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise the core of these rights directly in the app by deleting reels or your account. For anything else, email support@zestyshot.com and we will respond as required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. You can also turn off push notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, scoped access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your footage safe and to limit who can reach it.
International users
ZestyShot is operated from the United States, and your data is processed there and in other locations where our providers operate. By using ZestyShot you understand that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as ZestyShot evolves. When we make material changes we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
